Artificial intelligence (AI), combined with the Gleason score, is significantly improving prostate cancer detection. AI algorithms, trained on thousands of biopsy images, can identify subtle patterns associated with the cellular characteristics of cancer and assign a Gleason score with similar or even greater accuracy than expert pathologists. This synergy between AI and the Gleason score makes it possible not only to detect prostate cancer at earlier stages, but also to determine its aggressiveness with greater accuracy, which in turn facilitates the choice of the most appropriate treatment for each patient.
